Pool Construction
ii. Gunite swimming pools
Gunite is a mixture of sand and cement. Building begins with the digging of the hole, and the necessary plumbing is set in place. The taskforce then uses rebars to create a framework grid. The rebars, which are placed apart by ten inches, are joined with a cable. Once the rebars are ready and set to their rightful places, they set the gunite coat by spraying it around the rebar.
In order to create the wet concrete material, water is added to the dry gunite mix and evenly spread across space. Within two weeks, the surface will cure, and it is ready for finishing. One can choose to do the finishing by placing pebbles, plaster or concrete paint designed for pool finishing.
iii. Vinyl Lined Pool
For this type of swimming pool, construction begins by locating a site and uncovering the ground on which you intend to construct the pool. The construction of a frame wall around the perimeter begins. The frame wall could be plastic, timber, or metal, depending on the owner's preference. The bottom of the pit is then covered with sand filler, and the workforce fits a vinyl lining to the perimeter wall.
The purpose of the lining is to hold water in the swimming pool structure. Vinyl-lined pools are inexpensive to build. However, they are not durable as the liner requires a replacement from time to time.
iv. Concrete Pools
Excavation takes place to sink a pit, and plumbing is done. The workers create a timber frame around the pit wall, and steel rods are also placed to reinforce the frame. They then empty the concrete and spread it to create a shell. After a few weeks, tile placement and plastering works are done to the shell's surface.
