Tile Cleaning

filter cleaning services
Pools are built with tiles to make them look attractive and to allow for easier cleaning. It is essential to clean the tiles in a pool. Cleaning depends on the frequency of use and the type of tiles.

Pool cleaning serves the purpose of cleaning germs and bacteria. If the pool tiles are left for a long time, dirt containing germs and bacteria accumulates on the surfaces. Germs reduce the effectiveness of chemicals. Consistent cleaning allows disinfectants to work as they should, and it ensures that bacteria do not survive.

It also removes stains, organic matter, algae and calcium deposits.
Hard water contains calcium that does not decompose. As a result, the calcium settles on the surface of the tiles. Excess calcium deposits can cause an imbalance in chemical levels.

Organic matter that falls into the pool slowly sinks and begins to decay. The decaying matter is capable of staining the pool tiles. A pool that has been neglected for an extended period creates a suitable environment for algae to thrive.

Types of cleaning

There are various methods one can use to clean the tile surfaces in the pool. They include:

Hand cleaning is the most common type of cleaning, especially for people with small pools. While hand cleaning, you can use a brush or pumice to scrub. Hand cleaning is inexpensive.

Hiring professionals to do the cleaning is another alternative. For places with big pools, this is a convenient way to save time and ensure that all spots are thoroughly cleaned. Cleaning professionals have the expertise, equipment, and chemical supply.

Pressure washing is also a way in which one can clean the tiles. It works by blasting away dirt and deposits. The pressure washer has enough equipment necessary for cleaning. They also come with the option of using cold or hot water. If you need to clean a large pool, it is advisable to divide it into portions so that no spot is left out.

Tile Cleaning process

Slightly drain the water in your pool to expose the tiles on the walls. Have some water remaining in the pool as you will need it for cleaning. Using a pool pump will help you drain the water to your desired level. However, for residues such as calcium, one needs to drain the water and remove the deposits completely.

You will need to determine the kind of residue to inform you of the cleaning materials to use and the most suitable process.

Begin to Clean

When starting, always ensure that you vacuum any organic debris. Brush over the tiles to remove any deposits and pour a cleaner or detergent.
For algae residues, a nylon or stainless steel brush will be good for cleaning. For calcium deposits, use a pumice stone, wet the surface and the pumice to avoid scratching the tiles, and clean by rubbing it back and forth.

At times, you might need to use pool acid, ensure that you are in protective clothing to avoid chemical burns. Using commercial tile cleaning solutions is another option. These substances are strong and corrosive. Therefore, there is a need to read and carefully follow the instructions and use protective equipment.
